The ADL analyzed all of the tweets addressed to the 30 incumbent Jewish members of the House and Senate for a report released weeks before the election and found an “alarming” number of anti-Semitic tweets, including the spread of an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory, that of the billionaire philanthropist George Soros funds and funds the political careers of Jewish politicians and liberal protests to create “Jewish supremacy” in the United States.

The ADL reviewed tweets posted between July 23rd and August 22nd for a new report released Tuesday and identified 5,954 tweets as “potentially” anti-Semitic and 10% of those tweets as “problematic” for them Using anti-Semitic language, conspiracy theories, tropics or for doubting incumbents because they are Jewish.
A 48% majority of all “problematic” tweets questioned the “loyalty, honesty, ideology and faith” of Jewish incumbents.
Soros’ conspiracy theories accounted for 39% of all “problematic tweets” and included allegations he funds and organizes, protests against Black Lives Matter and Antifa, and the careers of Jewish politicians and journalists.
Of the “problematic” tweets, 15% contained tropes related to the conspiracy theory that Jews control important political, financial and media entities and “exploit” them to the “detriment of others”.
Some of the “problematic” tweets, 7%, contained explicit anti-Semitic language that is against Twitter’s guidelines, and the posts have yet to be removed, according to the ADL.
A Twitter spokesperson said that the Wall Street Journal’s anti-Semitic content was banned under the platform’s hateful content rules and that Twitter would take action without listing what next steps to take.
Soros has donated billions to democratic political action committees and causes. His philanthropy, Open Society Foundations, funds projects promoting democracy worldwide and politically charged US organizations ranging from Planned Parenthood to Black Lives Matter. Right-wing conservatives have claimed he is responsible for a “globalist” movement and a left radical responsible for liberal protests. Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of ADL, says the term “globalist” refers to “Jewish people who are committed to a global conspiracy, not their countries of origin like the United States.” President Trump used the term to describe Soros in his 2016 campaign ads, which many viewed as anti-Semitic. Soros has been a target for years and an explosive device was found in his mailbox in 2018 but no one was injured.
Trump allegedly said that Jews “are only there for themselves” and “stick together” after talking on the phone with Jewish lawmakers last month, according to a Washington Post article based on anonymous sources labeled “current and former US.” Officials “were designated. Trump reportedly ended the call by saying, “We appreciate you very much, we also love your country and thank you very much,” according to CNN. His use of the term “your country” was similar to previous statements he had made that were criticized for suggesting that American Jews were not loyal to him and loyal to Israel.
$ 8.6 billion. That’s Soros’ valued fortune, according to Forbes.
