Instagram is an undeniably powerful tool for businesses.

All of this means if you aren’t using Instagram to reach new audiences, build brand awareness, and ultimately increase sales, you could be missing out.

How to create an Instagram business account
- Download the Instagram app.

1. Download the Instagram app.
To get started, you need to download the Instagram app on your phone or visit the Instagram website.
If you don’t have an Instagram account yet, you can either download the app and click “Create New Account” or open the desktop version (www.Instagram.com) and follow the same steps:

Next, fill out the form with your email address (make sure you choose a business email address), company name, username, and password.
You can also log into Facebook. If you already have a work Facebook account, this might be a good option.
It is important to note that your username should most likely be your company name and your password should follow all recommended guidelines (including a number, special characters, etc.).
3. Switch to a business account.
After you have set up a profile, you can switch it to a business account.
To do this, go to your profile and click on the three lines in the top right corner:
Then click on “Settings” in the navigation menu that appears:
Now click on “Account” on the “Settings” page:
Finally, click on “Switch to professional account”:
When you get to this point, you’ll see another option to switch to a “Creator” account. Creator accounts are intended to be used by influencers, public figures, or content creators.
If you are a company that sells a product or service, a business account is the right option.
4. Complete your profile.
At this point, you’re all set up with business accounts, but you’re not done yet.
Before you can start promoting your social media, you need to complete your profile:
To do this, select a profile photo. Your profile picture is usually a variation of your logo so that your audience can easily see it.
Next, you need to write your bio and fill in your company information. This includes your website, hours of operation, and contact information.
5. Post some content.
Before you can promote your account, it is important to post some pictures first. Maybe you can write an introduction or write a hello post.
When you interact with and follow people, they are likely to visit your account. You want something to be seen that explains who you are as a company.
6. Link your Facebook company page.
If you haven’t decided on your Facebook business account, it’s time to link your account here.
This is an important step as you will need a Facebook business page to be able to use some of Instagram’s business tools.
To link your account, click on the three lines in the top right corner (as in step 1). Then click on “Settings” and “Business”.
Now you can click on “Connect Facebook Page”:

7. Start following people.
Your profile is essentially ready to go. Invite your Facebook followers to follow you on Instagram to get started on Instagram.
You should also start following people to get the ball rolling. However, make sure you are strategic. The people you follow should make sense to your brand.
8. Develop a strategy.
Starting your Instagram business account is just the beginning. Once you are done with your page, it’s time to learn how to use Instagram for marketing.
You should think about the hashtags you are using, the accounts you are targeting, and who you are dealing with.

Interestingly, you can also do this by simply clicking on your profile and clicking “Edit Profile”.
