Tesco, the UK’s largest grocer, has stated that Santa won’t have a naughty list this year – which is really great for those of us who have eaten too much candy and drank too much wine to get through the lockdown this year .
It’s also good news for anyone with toilet paper on hand and for parents who skipped teaching their kids the “tough” subjects like math and science when they were caregivers and teachers like the one due to the lockdown shows retailer’s new Christmas holiday ad.
BBH London’s uplifting 60-second commercial encourages everyone to take a break – as Santa is tearing up his naughty list this year.
BBH said it developed the ad after research it commissioned found that 78% of people had a “naughty slip” that year.
On the Britney Spears track, “Oops! … I Did It Again,” spokesman for comedian Asim Chaudhry, the agency said it would give people permission to indulge in festive goodies and get off the naughty list this year to delete.
The campaign also includes a series of outdoor advertisements celebrating the difficult year.
“We want to help our customers celebrate, and this year it wasn’t just great food and drink. They told us they wanted a little joy after a difficult year,” said Alessandra Bellini, Tesco Chief Customer Officer.
Hopefully our ad delivers that while giving you the assurance that no matter how dodgy that haircut was at home, you’re not alone and definitely not on the naughty list after this year. So take on the festive goodies. “
