TikTok continued its efforts of the Health Heroes Relief Fund with news Wednesday that it will donate $ 1 million apiece to 10 academic institutions that serve underrepresented students with programs that focus on public health and professions in the fields Medicine and healthcare focus.
Funds are for scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing medical careers or other health-related fields to ensure the success of future heroes of Black, Latin American, and Indigenous health.
Belinda Frazier, director of culture and diversity at TikTok North America, said in a statement, “Health care workers are the heroes of the global pandemic and deserve heroes within the TikTok community. The TikTok Health Heroes Relief Fund was established to support their efforts and we are honored to continue our commitment to health care. We believe the next generation of health heroes should reflect the world around us, and we pride ourselves on supporting medical and health education programs that serve black, Latin American, and Indigenous students. “

- Laredo College
- North Carolina A&T University
- North Carolina Central University
- South Carolina State University
- University of South Dakota
- Tougaloo College
- Virginia Union College
- Xavier University of Louisiana
